Fannin Falls to 3-9 After a Tough Week

The Fannin County High School Rebels varsity baseball team now sits on a 3-9 record after facing Buford and a two game set against White County.
Fannin fell hard against Buford with a 12-2 loss coming last Friday against the Rebels. Fannin’s four hits wouldn’t be enough against the high power Buford attack.

Peyton Satterfield went 2-3 at the plate driving in both of the Rebel runs. One of the scores would be himself with a huge home run.

Jerod Petty couldn’t get it done on the mound for Fannin Rebels, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked three and struck out one.

Two runs in the bottom of the third helped Fannin Rebels close its deficit to 4-2. A two-run home run by Peyton fueled Fannin Rebels’ comeback, but Buford stopped the rally by adding on another five runs in the fifth.

Fannin hosted White County in the first game of the series. Fans were in awe of the scouts on site to watch Spencer Adams the highly praised pitcher of the Warriors.

Adams recorded the win for White County. He tossed six innings of shutout ball. He struck out seven, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Senior Trevor Stone ended up in the loss column, going five innings giving up three runs.

The Warriors tacked on four runs in the top of the seventh to put the game away 7-0.

After the tough home loss, the Boys in Blue headed to White County on Wednesday to try to get back into the win column.

Fannin jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. The attack began with a double from Satterfield.

White County never trailed after scoring three runs in the first on an RBI double by Adams.

Noah O’Neal was charged with the loss. He lasted just six innings, walked four, struck out four, and allowed five runs.

Fannin tacked on another run in the third but it would not be enough.
