Mr. Hubert Wayne Mashburn, age 71, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA.He was born in Fannin County, GA on September 22, 1942 to the late Hobert Hubert Mashburn and Verlie Estelle Mull Mashburn. He was a retired iron worker and a member of New Antioch Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran. He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise O’Neal, three infant sisters and one infant brother.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Mashburn of Blue Ridge, GA; four sons, Jimmy (Bobbie) Mashburn of Copperhill, TN, Billy Mashburn, David Mashburn, and Ricky Mashburn, all of Blue Ridge, GA; brother, Ken Mashburn of Blue Ridge, GA; sister, Jeannette (Alan) Chancey of Blue Ridge, GA; eight grandchildren, Christina (David) Owen, Matthew Mashburn, Megan Mashburn, Jordan Mashburn, Holly Mashburn, Brittany Mashburn, Kayli Mashburn, and Hannah Mashburn; and two great grandchildren, Landin Owens and Lexi Mashburn.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Terry Thrasher, Rev. Phillip Green, and Rev. James Galloway officiating. Music will be by the New Antioch Choir. Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Barnes Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 4:00-9:00 p.m.
