Fannin County High School Financial Aid Parent Night, January 30, 2014 6:00-7:30.
Topics that will be included are federal aid, HOPE, and institutional aid and scholarships. College representatives who have committed to coming to our Financial Aid night are Dalton State College, North Georgia Technical College, Young Harris College, and University of North Georgia College. All grades are invited. The agenda is below:6:00 Welcome
6:10 Break Out Sessions begin
FORMAT: We are offering three rounds of breakout sessions. Each session will last approximately 18-minutes with a 2-minute pass period. We ask that if you want to chat with a presenter that you wait until the last breakout session ends.

6:10 pm – 6:28 pm BREAKOUT SESSION #1
6:28 pm – 6:30 pm PASSING PERIOD
6:30 pm – 6:48 pm BREAKOUT SESSION #2
6:48 pm – 6:50 pm PASSING PERIOD
6:50 pm – 7:08 pm BREAKOUT SESSION #3
7:10 pm — -7:30 pm Optional meeting with individual colleges, counselors, and representatives for Q & A

Federal Financial Aid for College-Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Explanation of financial aid process for higher education. Learn what types of federal aid are available, what applications need to be completed, how you qualify and more.

Session #2
Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program Overview
Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship is available to Georgia residents who have demonstrated academic achievement. The scholarship provides money to assist students with their educational costs of attending a HOPE-eligible college in Georgia.

Session #3
Panel Discussion –College/Institutional Financial Aid
Discussion of financial Aid and Scholarships with panel of college financial aid and Admissions officers.
