Louise Blaisdell : Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces memorial services for Louise Murray Blaisdell, age 83, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at her home.
Mrs. Blaisdell was born in Atlanta on March 24, 1930 to the late Charles Francis & Eulalia (Williams) Murray. An accomplished violinist, Louise played with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra at the age of 15. She met the love of her life, “Cliff” at Georgia Tech. and the two would frequently go on dates to the Varsity in Atlanta or venture up to the mountains at Vogel State Park. Together, they raised 5 children that will always cherish memories of family trips in the station wagon, camping and numerous other outdoor activities. You always knew that if you needed anything, you could go to her and be taken care of. Her home became a haven for kids and she became the “neighborhood mom” . Young at heart and full of fun, Louise hid under the dining room table during lively games of hide & seek and helped to construct LEGO masterpieces. Her genuine concern for people and focus on customer service made her a successful insurance sales representative later on in life. She loved music and would often be found singing the melody of a familiar tune with her own little twist of humor to it.

She will be warmly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: son, Keith M Blaisdell; daughter & son-in-law, Susan & Michael Sexton; son, Bruce Blaisdell, daughter, Lynn Blaisdell Lentz and sister, Mildred Smith. 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also share in her legacy. Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Clifford C. Blaisdell, Jr.; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Blaisdell; grandson, Christopher Andrew Sexton; her parents and 5 siblings.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m.on Monday, December 2, 2013 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Jan Deverauex officiating.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville.
