Reynolds Wins Area FFA Event

Fannin County High School FFA member Amy Reynolds recently won the Area 1 FFA Floral Design Career Development Event, competing against 23 individuals. The event was held Cass High School in Cartersville on October 22, 2013. Reynolds will compete for state honors which will be held at ABAC in Tifton, GA on December 7. Montana Pearson competed in the junior division and placed 10 out of 26 contestants earning a gold ranking.
The Floral Design Career Development Event allows students to utilize the principles and elements of design. Each student makes two floral arrangements and answers questions by a panel of judges concerning floral design principles. Students use the principles of balance, proportion and scale, focal point, emphasis, rhythm, harmony and unity, and the technique of flower placement to create their designs.

The FFA Floral Design Career Development Event is sponsored by the Georgia State Florists’ Association as a special project of the Georgia FFA Foundation.
