Greg Chambers Steps Down at FCHS

FYN has been informed that Head Football Coach Greg Chambers has stepped down from his position as of Monday afternoon.

Chambers lead the Rebels to a 2-8 season this year with wins over Union and Banks County.

This was coach’s second full year as head coach after taking over a portion of the year prior.

The Fannin County High School released this statement:

Greg Chambers will be stepping down as the head coach of Fannin County High School in order to spend more time with his family. Coach Chambers will complete his duties as football coach for this year and will remain a teacher at the high school.

FYN will keep you up to date as this story develops.

FYN has learned that the FCHS head football coaching position search is wide open and no potential replacements have been discussed to this date. The administration plans to accept applications through the first of December, and then screening and interviewing candidates. Currently the plan is to have a new football coach named during the early part of the spring semester.
