David Pate : Obituary

David Pate, age 85 of Morganton, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013, in Marietta.He was born January 31, 1928 in Crystal River, FL to the late Rev. J.E. and Evie Lois McElwaney Pate. David was a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Choir member of Morganton Baptist Church and a member of Morganton Masonic Lodge. He retired from General Motors where he worked as an electrician. Mr. Pate was a Korean War Air Force Veteran and enjoyed playing guitar and harmonica.

Survivors include: wife, Jane Pate, daughter, Freda (Jim) Mapes, daughter, Darlene (Allen) Storey, sisters, Catherin Houze and Mary Virginia Weaver, granddaughters, Alicia, Amy, Lindsey and Amanda, great granddaughter, Tessa.

Funeral services: Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Morganton Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Morganton Baptist Cemetery with Military Honors by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Monday, November 04, 2013 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
