John Dye : Obituary

John Edward Dye, age 70 of Morganton, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his home. Mr. Dye was born April 13, 1943 in Cherokee, NC to the late Roy Rich and the late Christine Dye Standridge. He was a member and founder of Little Mountain Church. He was preceded in death by his sons, Clayton Edward Dye, and Donald Eugene Dye, granddaughter, Jade McAllister in addition to his parents.

Survivors include: Marlene “Polly” Jones, sons, Michael Dye, Kenneth Dye, and Keith Dye, step-son, Scott Jones, step-daughters, Pamela Craig, and Sabrina Craig, half brother, James Rich, grandchildren, Timothy Dye, Blake Dye, Journie Penwell, Jayme Ivester.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Hightower officiating. Music provided by: Gail Weaver. Interment will follow in the Little Mountain Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include David Newton, Brian Dye, Randy Patton, Jerry Stillwell, Junior Stillwell, and Josh Miller. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeff Edwards.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
