With the increasing budget cuts, teachers in the classroom are often faced with the need for something for their classroom to benefit their students. The PTO at Blue Ridge Elementary assisted in raising funding by offering the students a chance to participate in a special opportunity.Whether it be the idea of keeping the sun out of their eyes or supporting their favorite sports team, students are, often, eager to have the opportunity to wear their favorite hat to school since they can’t typically do so. The PTO at BRES sponsored the first PTO Spirit Hat Day of the 2013-2014 school year. The cost to participate was a dollar and the funds raised during this event are used to provide various things for the school ranging from playground equipment to classroom supplies. PTO also pays for the planners and folders that a child gets each year at the beginning of the year.
The PTO at Blue Ridge Elementary has several other fundraisers planned for this school year. While they vary from one year to another, one thing never changes…the students are always thrilled for whatever it may be.
