Mrs. Betty Jean Ward, age 75 of Morganton, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.She was born on Wednesday, April 13, 1938 in Morganton, GA to the late Earl and Ethel Seabolt McDaris. Mrs. Ward was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, taking care of her family, was a natural born mother and grandmother. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors are her husband of fifty-seven years, Philip Ward of the home; sons, Donald Philip Ward of Morganton, GA, Ronald Howard Ward of Morganton, GA and Roland Junior (Angela) Ward of Blairsville, GA; brothers, David McDaris of Morganton, GA and Wade McDaris of Morganton, GA; sisters, Joanne Barrett of Morganton, GA, Jeanette Head of Morganton, GA, Cora Stewart of Blue Ridge, GA and Evalee Byers of Blue Ridge, GA; seven grandchildren, Ginger Pritchett, Danny Ward, Josh Ward, Scott Ward, Kyle Ward, Thomas Ward and Angelica Ward; two great-grandchildren, Riley Pritchett and Cole Pritchett also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Alan Swafford officiating. Music will be by Bud Eaton. Pallbearers will be Danny Ward, Josh Ward, Scott Ward, Kyle Ward, Thomas Ward and Josh Pritchett. Interment will follow in Dial Church Of Christ Cemetery.
