Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces the death of Mrs. Wilma Hogan, age 87, of Blairsville, who passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.Wilma was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia, on August 17, 1926, a daughter of the late Lonnie Martin Knight and the late Lydia Miranda Benefield Knight. She had been a bookkeeper for a doctor’s office, and she and her late husband Jake had moved to Blairsville in 1986. Wilma had been active in the Order of the Eastern Star, #305, and Union General Hospital Auxiliary. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William H. Hogan, known to his friends as “Jake”; a daughter, Nancy Sue Tinsley; and a son, William H. Hogan, Jr.
Wilma will be fondly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: brother, Wilson Knight, of Suwanee, Georgia; two sisters, Helen Allison, of Florida; and Runnette Goddard, of Tucker, Georgia; two grandchildren, Kimberly Nicole Derreberry and Ryan Wayne Tinsley; great grandson, Aedan Ryan Tinsley.
Graveside services are being planned and will be announced later.
