Mrs. Edith Mae Patterson White, age 80 of Blue Ridge, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013, at Hospice Care Center in Chattanooga, TN. She was born on Wednesday, November 9, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Clinton Patterson and Opal Panzie Cleo Rogers Patterson. Mrs. Patterson was a homemaker. She was a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church. Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her husbands, Oscar Fortenberry and Ralph White; two sons, Earl Patterson and Tommy Fortenberry and one daughter, Mary Lou Key.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, L.C. and Mary Frances Fortenberry of Blue Ridge, GA, brothers, A.D. Patterson of Mineral Bluff, GA, Frank Patterson of Blue Ridge, GA and Dossie Patterson of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters, Fannie Mae Sanford of Ellijay, GA, Barbara Ware of Blue Ridge, GA, Wanda Cole of Blue Ridge, GA, Maudell Southerland of Ellijay, GA, Deborah Patterson of Blue Ridge, GA and Lisha Lamb of London , KY; six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Denny Hawkins officiating. Music will be by the Charlie Farmer Family. Pallbearers will be Charles Mull, Chris Ross, Melvin Cole, Fred Rhodes, Sal Biscardi and Shawn Kemp. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Morganton, GA.
