Billie Elliott : Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Billie Deaver Elliott, age 92, of Blairsville, who passed away Sunday evening, August 4, 2013 at her home in Blairsville.Mrs. Elliott was a native of Blairsville, and was born in the Ivy Log section of Union County. She was a member of Ivy Log Baptist Church, where she had been a very active member. Billie was a graduate of Young Harris College in Young Harris. She met and married Dale Elliott in 1941; her beloved husband Dale passed away in 2011. They lived in Hopewell, Virginia, for many years before moving back in 1981. Mrs. Elliott had also been preceded in death by a daughter, Jimmie Elliott.

Mrs. Elliott leaves behind her loving family to treasure her memory: son and daughter-in-law, James Dale and Natica Elliott, of Jasper, Georgia; granddaughters, Claire Elliott, and Joy Elliott, of Jasper; three cousins: Lester Deaver, Mary Twiggs, and Billie Young, all of Blairsville; Special Care Givers: Patti McConahy, Nicole May, and April Orr-Prunier, all of Blairsville; many other relatives and friends also share in her legacy.

Funeral services for Billie have been scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., at Ivy Log Baptist Church; the body will lie instate at the church starting at 12:30 p.m. Mrs. Elliott will be laid to rest next to her husband Dale in Ivy Log Cemetery in Blairsville.

Flowers are being accepted; however, if you wish to do so, donations in memory of Billie may be made to Ivy Log Baptist Church Building Fund, or to Ivy Log Cemetery Fund.

Visitation will be held at Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, on Monday evening, August 5, 2013, between the hours of 6 until 8 p.m.
