Mrs. Denise Yvonne Nicholson, age 58 of Blue Ridge, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at her home.Mrs. Nicholson was born June 11, 1955 in Fannin Co., Georgia to the late Kemp O’Neal and the late Mattie Joyce Cox O’Neal. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church. She loved doing arts and crafts and she enjoyed the outdoors.

Family members include husband, Calvin Nicholson, daughter, Jessica (Jason) Stanley-Hughes, son, Jeremy DeWitt, her mother and father in law, Essie Nicholson and the late Willie Nicholson, sister, Dian Hawkins, sister, Lucy Hopkins, brothers and sisters in law; Linda Nicholson, Bobby and Marilyn Nicholson, Dennis Nicholson, the late Bonnie Broadway and Jim Broadway, the late John Nicholson. Also six grandchildren survive; Kimberly DeWitt, Aubrie McDarris, Logan DeWitt-Stanley, Kalliee Stanley, Taylor Hughes, and Austin Hughes.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Eric Davenport & Rev. Tulley Griggs officiating. Music provided by Raven Welch. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include Danny Foster, James Millholland, Chuck Taylor, Zack Robertson, Anthony Stanley and Jim Broadway. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Nicholson, Bobby Nicholson, Dennis Nicholson, Tim Hopkins, Lynn Hawkins, Austin Hughes, and Logan DeWitt-Stanley .

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home, Friday, August 2, 2013 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
