Mr. William Young Davis, age 70, of Douglasville, GA passed away June 23, 2013.Born in Fannin County, GA he was the son of the late George and Nora Millsaps Davis. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Conflict. During that time he attained the rank of Sergeant and was the reciepiant of the Commendation Medal, Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He retired from the C.D. Moody Construction Company as a Superintendent of high rise construction from over twenty years of service. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Construction Union and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Davis; daughters, Rebecca Davis of the home and Bethany Keaton of Yorkville, GA; siblings, Myrtle Millsaps of Mineral Bluff, GA, Herman Davis of Daytona, FL, Reathel Bryan of Blue Ridge, GA, Pauline Raper of Farner, TN, Curtis Davis and Lee Davis both of Blue Ridge, GA; grandchildren, Gracee and Noah Keaton; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday July 26, at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music will be provided by Nancy Watkins. Interment will follow in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Johnny Millsaps, Jessie Millsaps, Ronnie Davis, Josh Dillard, Jimmy Dillard and Bill Heathrly. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Richard Smith and Johnny Ray Smith. Full military honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m.
