James Hinton : Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces services for Mr. James Jr. Hinton, age 89, of Blairsville, who passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mr. Hinton was born in Illinois, on August 4, 1923, a son of the late James Joshua Hinton and Cora Jane Gates Hinton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Army Air Corps. He had been living in this area since 1992, moving here from Cape Coral, Florida. Jim was a member of First United Methodist Church of Union County, and of the Union County Lions Club. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Hinton; a son, James Jay Hinton; three sisters: Lula Belle Sommers, JoAnne Wiggins, and Monica H. Armstrong; and a brother, Robert Hinton.

Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and especially missed by his loving family members: brother, Kenneth Hinton, of Mohomet, Illinois; sister, Mary Hinch, of Peoria, Illinois; and sister, Susan Osterbur, of South Dakota.

Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, between the hours of 6 until 9 p.m., at Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville. Burial will be held at a later time at Coral Ridge Funeral Home in Florida.
