Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Woodyard, age 89 of McCaysville, passed away June 11, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Copper Basin.Mary was born October 17, 1923 in Hale County, Alabama to the late Thomas Alexander McDonald and Maude Florence Puckett McDonald. She attended the Kingtown Baptist Church and she was preceded in death by husband, Hubert R. Woodyard, brother, John McDonald, and daughter-in-law, Melba Woodyard. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed reading and working in her garden.
Survivors include daughter, Joyce Reid, son, Jonathan Woodyard, daughter, Lee Ann Perry, daughter, Jeri Bland, daughter, Bonnie Woodyard, son, Chris (Carol) Woodyard, son, Scott Woodyard, nine grandchildren, Jack (Margaret) David Jinkins, Jesse Lewis Jinkins, Joseph Edward Jinkins, Penny Woodyard, Stuart Neely, Robert Wright, Corey Woodyard, William Woodyard, and Amber Woodyard, also seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of McCaysville/Copperhill with the Rev. Mathew McDaniel and Rev. Harold Willis officiating.
