Fannin County Fire/EMS along with Gilmer County Fire Rescue and US Forest Service responded to the report of a woman falling approximately 50 feet down Fall Branch Falls in the Stanley Creek area. Crews had to hike in about ¼ mile to the falls to reach the victim. She was treated and immobilized on the scene, then carried out to Stanley Creek Road where a Fannin County ambulance transported her to meet Life Force. She was flown to Erlanger Medical Center for possible head injury. A total of 21 personnel responded from the different agencies. No word on the patient’s condition now.

Even though there was a huge influx of people for the Memorial Day weekend, Fannin Fire/EMS didn’t have a big increase in calls, and no major problems were reported.
