Mr. William Glenn Housley, better known as “Shorty” age 92 of Copperhill, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at his home, with his family giving him care during his time of need.Shorty was born September 2, 1920 in Epworth, GA to the late John Henry Housley and Louvenia Clementine Goss Housley. He was a member of the McCaysville Church of God and the Copperhill Masonic Lodge. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran, and retired as a boilermaker from the Cities Service Company after 42 years of service. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, keeping bees, and raising beagle dogs.

He was preceded in death wife, Esther Marie Housley, and son, Danny Housley.

Survivors include: sons, William “Bill” (Delinda) Housley; Johnny (Doris) Housley and Dewayne (Wilma) Housley; daughter, Shelia Housley Savage; daughter-in-law, Evelyne Housley, brothers, Emmette Housley; Elvin Housley, sister,Ivanelle Housley, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services: Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the McCaysville Church of God with the Rev. Tony Stallings, Rev. Danny Queen, and Rev. Hoyt Carr officiating. Music provided by family members, Bill Housley, Johhny Housley, Tracy Housley Duez, Dewayne Housley, and Shelia Housley Savage. Interment will follow in the Crestlawn Cementery. Pallbearers: David Duez, Wayne Barrett, Max Housley, Terry Lecessee, Greg Housley, Ricky Peak, LeRoy Satterfield, and Virgil Allen.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
