J. Grady Hughes : Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mr. J. Grady Hughes, age 82, of Blairsville, who passed away Thursday morning, April 25, 2013, at his home.

Mr. Hughes was born in Blairsville on January 22, 1931, a son of the late Grady Hughes and the late Mary Abernathy Hughes. He worked in the southeastern United States for Standard Coffee for many years before starting his own business, Hughes Services. Grady was a member of Allegheny Masonic Lodge, #114 F & AM. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Hughes; and a sister, Cora Bell Hughes Worden; and a brother, Sam Hughes.

Grady was well-known and had many friends, all of whom will miss him so much; but he will be especially missed by his loving family: Marilyn Hughes, of Blairsville; a cousin, Bill Abernathy; and a nephew, Charles Worden. Many other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Grady have been scheduled for Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 3:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 27, 2013, with the family especially meeting with friends between the hours of 6 until 8 p.m.

Flowers are being accepted, but if you wish to do so, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society Mountain Shelter, 129 Bowling Gap Circle, Blairsville, GA 30512.
