Martha Lee Geter : Obituary

Mrs. Martha Lee Geter, age 70 of Blue Ridge, passed away on April 18, 2013, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. Mrs. Geter was born May 2, 1942 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Clint William and Blanche Miller Key. A member of Cherry Log Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by husband, Bill Geter. From her early 20’s, she worked as a secretary in Atlanta, taking early retirement at the age of 55 to return to her hometown of Blue Ridge. A devoted mother, she enjoyed her family, her church family, photography, tending to her flowers, and bird watching.

Survivors include: daughter, Debbie (Rick) Wilcox of Mineral Bluff, son, Joe (Natalie) Geter of Tyrone, two grandchildren, Bailey and John Michael Geter. Brothers Jerry (Betty) Key, Robert (Jeanette) Key, and Danny (Ann) Key, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at 2:00 pm at the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Davis and Rev. Jim Gilliland officiating. Interment will follow in the Cherry Log Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Tim Key, Tony Key, Mike Key, Chuck Key, Bailey Geter, and Clay Ware.

The family will receive friends at the Akins of Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6-9 pm. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
