Students visited the University of North Georgia last Wednesday. GACHE (Georgia Appalachian Center for Higher Education) funds made it possible for students to tour the campus and eat lunch in the UNG cafeteria.
Appalachian Regional Commission funding for GACHE will not continue for next year, so we will not have the opportunity to apply for GACHE funds. These funds have made it possible for us to implement strategies to improve the percentage of our students who continue after high school to some type of post-secondary training whether it be technical, 2 or 4 year college, or military training. This is the fifth year that we have benefited from GACHE funding.
