Mrs. Marjorie McKinney Love, age 102, of Morganton, GA passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at her home.Mrs. Love was born in Blue Ridge, GA on January 11, 1911 to the late Michael McKinney and Edith Evans McKinney. She worked as a postal clerk for the United States Postal Service. She was a member of Blue Ridge United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Home Demonstration Club, Mountain Regional Library Board, several committees at Blue Ridge United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, played piano for the Sunday School Class assembly, and was a MYF counselor. She was preceded in death by her husband George Theodore Love, Jr.; and sons, George K. Love, Charlie E. Love, James Robert Love, Michael M. Love, Jerry M. Love, Stephen M. Love, David L. Love, and Donald M. Love.
She is survived by children, John A. Love of Morganton, Joseph C. Love of Waleska, GA, Phillip D. Love of Roswell, GA, and Marjorie Love Harrison of Savannah, GA; 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Burrell officiating. Mrs. Love will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour. Eulogy will be by Joseph Love. Pallbearers will be Ronald Love, Steve Love, Robert L. Love, Duane Love, Jason Love, Jonathan Love, and Mark Love. Interment will follow in the Morganton Methodist Cemetery in Morganton, GA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Mrs. Love may be made to the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church Capitol Campaign P.O.
