Edward Lee “Ed” Henson, age 58 of McCaysville, GA passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at home. Ed was born Saturday, August 21, 1954 and was the son of the late Everett Henson and Addie Stiles Henson. He was a furniture builder. Ed was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Hardscrabble Road. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Henson and a sister, Carolyn Bell.
Surviving is his wife, Irene Henson of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel Edward Henson (Michelle) of Ellijay, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Jennie Rebekah Tackett (Brent) of Huntsville, AL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Homer Henson (Linda Gail) of Powder Springs, GA and Gene Henson (Maude) of KS; sister and brother-in-law, Irene Akins (Ronnie) of Mineral Bluff, GA; two grandchildren, Rylie Denise Tackett and Aiden Drake Tackett.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday March 27, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church located at Hardscrabble Road Mineral Bluff, Georgia 30559 with the Rev. Bill Johnson and Rev. Paul Richards officiating. Music will be by Susie Roberson. Pallbearers will be Jim Falls, Rusty Roberson, James Akins, Jamie Cantrell, Russell Cantrell and Edgar Cantrell. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
