Alfred Jackie Queen : Obituary

Mr. Alfred Jackie Queen, age 79, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 in the North Georgia Medical Center in Ellijay, GA.Mr. Queen was born in Fannin County, GA on July 23, 1933 to the late Claud A. Queen, Sr. and Alice Stiles Queen. He was a business owner and a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. Mr. Queen was a United States Army Korean War Veteran and was preceded in death by a brother, Othello Lee Queen; and a sister, Edna L. Queen.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, John A. Williams and Carole Williams of Maybee, MI, Gary Lee Queen and Lynda Queen of Carleton, MI, and Jackie R. Queen and Denise Queen of Maybee, MI; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Marie Lyos and Jim Lyos of Manchester, MI, Kathy Smith of Farmington, MI; Teresa Zentz of Saline, MI, Donna Turay and Stephen Turay of Ishpeming, MI, Jackie Rouleau and Joe Rouleau of Greenville, TX, Patty Kohlman of La Salles, MI, and Connie Heck and Duane Heck of Erie, MI; brothers, Claud Queen, Jr. and Norma Lea Queen of Blue Ridge, GA, Billy J. Queen and Shirley Queen of Stockbridge, GA, Wayne Queen and Diane Queen of Copperhill, TN, Ronnie H. Queen and Ruby Queen of Epworth, GA; 35 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 25, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. James Howard Galloway officiating. Military honors will be by North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will follow in Mobile Church Cemetery. Donations in memory of Mr. Queen may be made to Meals on Wheels 440 W. 1st Street Blue Ridge, GA 30513, Home-Stead Senior Care Hospice to 15 Earnest St. Unit A Blairsville, GA 30512 or to the Mobile Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Steve Patterson 811 West Pierceville Rd. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
