Robert Charles Guthrie : Obituary

Mr. Robert Charles Guthrie, age 65, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA.Mr. Guthrie was born in Ducktown, TN on June 9, 1947. He retired from Delta Airlines where he worked as a lighting mechanic. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of First Baptist Church Epworth, GA. Mr. Guthrie was preceded in death by his father, Travis Leon Guthrie, Sr; mother, Lucy Carlton Guthrie; granddaughter, Amanda Mimbs; niece, Kathrine Guthrie; father-in-law, F.E. Lanning and brother-in-law, Donnie Arp.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Lanning Guthrie of Blue Ridge; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Carmen Guthrie of Acworth, GA; daughter, Lisa Mimbs of Loganville, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon and Jane Guthrie of Chattanooga, TN, Carlton and Loretta Guthrie of Dalton, GA, and Jerry Guthrie of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Kimberly Mimbs, Stephanie Mimbs, Hope Mimbs, Carter Guthrie, and Kaylie Guthrie; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; mother-in law, Sarah Lanning and sister-in-law, Sarah Arp.

Memorial services will be on held Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the First Baptist Church Epworth, GA with the Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan and the Rev. Jerry Meredith officiating. Music will be by Rev. Doug Simonds. Honorary escort will be the Fannin Regional Hospital Auxillary.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m and also at the First Baptist Church of Epworth from 1:00 p.m. until the memorial service.
