Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Zola Rogers, age 90, of Blairsville, who passed away Friday morning, February 15, 2013 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mrs. Rogers was born in Swain County, North Carolina, on June 1, 1922, a daughter of the late Floyd Burnette and the late Cora Dills Burnette. She had lived in Blairsville for most of her life and was a homemaker. Mrs. Rogers was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she had been preceded in death by her husband, John Silvey Rogers; a son, Hoyt Rogers; two sisters, Genevieve Bowers and Siva Lee Pickelsimer; and four brothers: Odell Burnette, W.F. Burnette, Marvin Burnette, and Hansel Burnette.

Mrs. Rogers was dearly loved and leaves these family members: Brenda and Leonard Sosebee, of Blairsville; Faye and Ronnie Hawkins, of Chatsworth, Georgia; Tommy and Carol Bowers, of Gainesville, Georgia; Preston Burnette, of Chatsworth; and Arlene and Donnie Scott, also of Chatsworth. Many other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rogers have been scheduled for Saturday, February 16, 2013, at 3:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Tommy Bowers, Jr., Ronnie Hawkins, Cory Hawkins, Preston Burnette, Jerry Stover, and Jerry Stover, II. Mrs. Rogers will be laid to rest in Liberty Hill Cemetery, next to her husband, Silvey.

Visitation at the funeral home will begin on Friday evening, February 15, 2013, at 6 p.m. and last until 9 p.m. Flowers are accepted.
