Edith Mildred Queen, age 89, of the Heritage Health Care in Blue Ridge passed away on February 11, 2013.Born in Fannin County, GA she was the daughter of the late James and Sally Rue Herron. She was a loving mother and Grandmother and a long time member of the New River Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands; Arthur Leroy Queen and Harvey Galloway; two children, Leroy Queen and Louise Winkler.
Survivors include three children sons and daughter-in-laws, Larry and Broonie Queen of Marietta, GA, Lowell and Carol Queen of McCaysville, GA and Leslie and Rita Queen of Mineral Bluff, GA; ten great grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Mashburn officiating. Interment will follow in the Kingtown Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Alvin Brooks, Bob Galloway, Gerald Mathis and Charles Mathis.
