Friday, January 25 at around 7:30AM, the 911 center started receiving reports of icing, mostly on roadways in eastern Fannin County, Wolf Creek and the Epworth/Highway 2 areas, creating several auto accidents. There were a total of 8 auto accidents reported to 911 that were attributed to the ice and many more that were not reported. Both Georgia DOT and Fannin County Salt Trucks were notified of the affected areas as the reports came in and quickly took care of the problems.

Fannin County Fire Department was paged to 17232 Morganton Hwy. for the report
of a Chimney Fire. Engine 7 arrived on scene to find embers and smoke coming
from the chimney. Used Dry Chemical to extinguish fire.

Fannin County Fire Department responded to the area of 116 Mountain River Ln.
For the report of a Chimney Fire. First arriving unit found that the fire fire
was already out. Used Thermal Imaging Camera to check for any hotspots.
