Harley Deal, Jr, age 86, of the Lifecare Center of Copper Basin passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013. Harley was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a son of the late Bunyon Harley and Edna Blanche Cole Deal. He had retired as a welder from the Cities Service Company and was a member of the Farner Presbyterian Church, serving as Elder for over fifty years. He was a WWII combat veteran serving in the U.S. Army and a member of the Ducktown Masonic Lodge # 241 F & AM. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Deal, son, Robert Harley Deal, grandsons, Harley Craig Cole, James Jonathan Lee Cole and two infant grandchildren, siblings, Doug Deal, Josie Collins and Harlestine Rymer.

He is survived by daughters, Wanda L. (Rassie) Cheek of Turtletown, TN, Phyllis M. (Danny) Cole of Farner, TN; brothers, Clint Alynn Deal, Sr and David Daniel Deal, both of Turtletown, TN; grandchildren, Vicki Ledford, Lynn Cheek and Eddie Cheek; great grandchildren, Jason Ledford, Jaime Ledford, Ashley Head, Jasmine Cole and Garryn Cheek; seven great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 15th at 2:00 p.m. from the Farner Presbyterian Church with Pastor Wayne Carter officiating. Music will be by Janice Reid. Pallbearers include, Ricky Deal, Eddie Cheek, Lynn Cheek, Garryn Cheek, Jason Ledford, Jaime Ledford, Jason Morrow and J.D. Price. Honorary pallbearers include Billy Joe Barnes, Edsel Deal, Larry Spurling, Mitchell Kimsey, Dennis Kimsey, Glen Spurling, Kent Payne, Lawrence Hyatt and Ray Dean. Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church cemetery with military honors by the North Georga Honor Guard.
