Mr. Ronald Walter, Ballew, Sr., age 71, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. Mr. Ballew was born in Fannin County, GA on September 28, 1941 to the late Rev. Arthur Ballew and Pearl Galloway Ballew. He was a member of Bethany Church. He retired after twenty nine years as a machinist for Cities Service.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Denise S. Ballew of Blue Ridge; son, Ronald Ballew, Jr. of Blue Ridge; daughters and son-in-law, Renee and Scott Adams of Andrews, NC and Rebekah D. Ballew of Blue Ridge; brothers and sisters-in-law, Benny and Patty Ballew of Eatonton, GA, Sam and Dee Ballew of Cumming, GA, and Joe Ballew of Marietta, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Kay and Dickey Carter of Smyrna, GA and Frances Pack of McCaysville; 9 grandchildren, Jonathan Sherbert, Brandy Cannon, Christa Humphreys, Rebekah Jo Collins, Tyler Adams, Joseph Ballew, Andrew Ballew, Brina K. Dawson, and Chance Pittman; and 4 great grandchildren, Brooklyn Humphreys, Christopher Cannon, Baylee Humphreys, and Kimmi Page Collins.

Memorial services will be held Monday, December 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Dickey and Rev. Bill Pittman officiating. Music will be by Annette Cook.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 12 noon until the service hour.
