Pipeliners Raise 2K for Empty Stocking

Employees of Troy Construction and its affiliates took the opportunity to give back to Fannin County this week.
With all of the construction going on in Fannin County to install the lines for the large Atlanta Gas Light project, the employees working in the community opted to chip in and give back to Fannin during this economically difficult time of year. As with most areas undergoing extensive construction, citizens get frustrated and feel like they’re having their lives invaded and taken over. Well, Troy Construction and its affiliates accepted a challenge posted on Pipeline Locator to give back to the community they were currently working in. Job inspector Kirk Townsend approached the members of the five crews working in the Blue Ridge area with the challenge and they were eager to accept it.

On Tuesday, December 4th, 2012, Townsend presented Fannin County Empty Stocking representative Ken Williams a check for over $2,000 to go directly to the organization that helps provide Christmas for over 500 children in the community.

“We wanted to give back to the community and let everyone know that we do care about their lives they lead in the area. We wanted to help and who better to help than an innocent child?”

said Steven Hall, a pipeline installer.
Williams was grateful for the generosity of the men who took from their personal paycheck to give to a community that many of them don’t even know. He also expressed how important the non-profit organization was to providing Christmas for needy children.
The community of Blue Ridge is thankful for the awesome support it received from this challenge to give back and the generosity of these hard working men will help put a smile on a few children’s faces this Christmas morning!
