Overall, EMS did not see a big increase in call volume over the holiday weekend. There was one fatality in a motor vehicle accident which occurred early Sunday morning on Mineral Bluff Hwy involving one vehicle. EMS transported 1 patient to the LifeForce helipad in McCaysville where they were then airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. The other occupant of the vehicle died at the scene. Georgia State Patrol may be able to give you more information on the occupants.

Tuesday Nov. 20, 2012
10 fire fighters responded with Engine 2 and Engine 14 and Georgia Forestry
with 1 Dozer to the area of Toccoa River Ln for the report of a Brush Fire.
Arriving fire fighters found appx. 1/4 acres involved. Used rakes and booster
lines to put fire out.

8 Fire Fighters with Engine 1 responded to Harvest on Main for the report of a
fire on the deck. Arriving fire fighters found that a ceiling heater had
ignited the ceiling area on the front deck. Owners had already used a dry
chemical fire ext. on the fire. Fire fighters using hand tools and booster
line to ext. hot spots.

16 Fire Fighters, Engine 12, Engine 1, Med 1, and Air & Light responded to a
Kitchen fire in the 700 block of Maxwell Rd. Arriving firefighters found
flames coming thru the roof of the structure. Fire Fighters used two attack
lines, entered the structure thru the front door & knocked the fire down.
Red Cross assisted the family.
11-22-12 Thanksgiving Morning
Dispatched to the area of Maple Way around 0815 for the report of a chimney
fire. First arriving units advised nothing showing and checked the house for
any fire with a Thermal Image Camera. Found to be all clear and all units
returned to service. 10 fire fighters, Engine 11 and Medic 11 responded.

Dispatch to the area of Walkabout Creek. For the report of a brush fire with
structors in danger. Engine 11 Medic 11 and Rescue 1 responded. Along with 8
fire fighters.
11-25-12
Station 1 and Station 13 were dispatched to the area of 11 Mountian Side Dr.
Just off of Dry Branch for the report of a brush fire. First unit in scene
advised that the fire could be handled with Engine 1 and cancelled and further
responce.

Dispatched to the area of Hwy 515 mile marker 14 &15 for the report of a Barn
Fire. First unit on scene to advise that the structor was on the ground with
about 1 acer of woods burning. Extinguished fire. Engine 7, 8, 11, Medic 11,
18 Fire Fighter, Ga Forestry with 1 Dozier.
11-26-12
Dispatched to 1351 Old Mobil Rd . for the report of a chimney fire. First unit
on scene to find smoke coming from residence. Used 1 attack line to extinguish
fire. Engine 4 Medic 4 and 7 Fire Fighters responded. Red Cross assisted
family with shelter.
