FCHS Principal Congratulates Students

Congratulations to the students and staff of Fannin County High School for their recent success on the Georgia High School Graduation Writing Test (GHSGWT) that was administered on October 3, 2012. Of the 184 students who attempted the test in the 11th grade, 98% met or exceeded the standard for the test. The North Georgia RESA average was 96% and the State of Georgia average was 95%. We are very proud of our students and staff who have worked diligently preparing for the writing assessment. The GHSGWT is the only remaining graduation test that is required for students to graduate who entered the 9th grade after August 2011. The number of required Carnegie Units remain at 28 and now our students must successfully pass all of the End-Of-Course Test (EOCT) classes (Biology, Physical Science, 9th Grade Literature, American Literature, US History, Economics, Coordinate Algebra & Coordinate Geometry). If you have any questions regarding your child’s progress and graduation requirements please contact the Guidance Department at FCHS.
