Mr. Martin Luther “Luke” Waters, Jr., age 78, of Copperhill, TN passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Fannin Regional Hospital.He was born in Polk County, TN on January 18, 1934 to the late Martin Luther Waters, Sr. and Zella Allen Waters. Mr. Waters had been an iron worker for many years. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church at Tumbling Creek, Copperhill Masonic Lodge #656 F&AM and a 32 degree mason. Mr. Waters was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Marion Joe, Willard, Ernie Waters; and sister, Myrtle O’Neal.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Johnny Wilson of Copperhill, TN; brothers, James, Josh, Charles, Wendell, John Henry and George Waters all of Copperhill, TN; granddaughter, Makisha and husband, Mark Watson; great-grandchildren, Makain and Makya Watson; nieces; nephews and others relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from Mount Zion at Tumbling Creek with Rev. Eric Waters and Rev. Lloyd Deal officiating. Music will be by the Kenny O’Neal Family, Deal Family and Rev. Billy Waters. Pallbearers will be Darren Waters, Rev. Eric Waters, Gary Waters, Brad Waters, Rev. Billy Waters, Kenny Housley and Lawrence Hoogendoorn. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 and Wednesday, November 28, 2012 after 5:00 p.m.

A Masonic service will be Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m. by the Ducktown Masonic Lodge #241 F&AM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill is in charge of the arrangements.
