Doris Scroggs : Obituary

Doris O. Scroggs, age 85 of Brasstown, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Doris was born June 27, 1927 in Ducktown, TN to the late John Wesley and Jessie Johnson Parton. She was of the Methodist faith.retired from the variety store in Hayesville.She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren . during her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, word puzzles, gardening and watching westerns movies.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Scroggs, infant daughter, Lanette, and sister, Laura Holden.

Surviving her are three sons, Harold Jr. and wife Joyce, Timothy and wife Lea, Scott and wife Charity, four grandchildren, Allen Scroggs, Johnathan Scroggs Annie Scroggs and Cory Scroggs, one great grandchild, Gracie Scroggs. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Parton and wife Chris.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Cochran Funeral Home chapel in Peachtree at 2:00 pm with Rev. Kenny White officiating. Music provided by Becky Brown .her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Interment followed in Hickory Stand Methodist Church Cemetery.

The staff at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home along with Dr. Brian Mitchell and his staff took excellent care of Doris the last several years of her life.
