The English department at Fannin County High School recently sponsored a poetry contest for Veterans Day. Students were challenged to express their gratitude to the men and women-both past and present-who insured our freedoms through personal sacrifice. First place winner Luke Fanelli received a $50.00 cash prize. 2nd place Matt Holtslander received $30.00, and Foster Holt received $20.00. The FCHS Academic Booster Club provided the cash awards to these deserving students. Mr. Fanelli’s poem will appear in the program for the FCHS Veterans Day tribute, which will be held in the PAC on November 8 at 9:00 a.m.
