Grace Christine Burger, age 100, of Copperhill, TN, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012.Mrs. Burger was born April 12, 1912 to the late Joseph and Emma Dilbeck Johnson. She was the oldest member to attend Bethlehem Baptist Church and she was a member of the Bethlehem Homemakers Club. She was a homemaker who loved and enjoyed her family. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Burger, daughter, Joyce Anita Trantham, grandchildren, John Kennedy, Vernon Lynn Kennedy, Joel Kennedy, siblings, Lloyd Johnson, Luther (Buck) Johnson, Lowell (Sonny) Johnson, Reba Phillips, Edith Norton and Ruby Johnson.
She is survived by son, Charles (Catherine) Burger of Copperhill, TN; daughters, Reba Joanna (Andrew) Gmeiner and Lois Jean Kennedy, both of Copperhill, TN; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 2nd, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Jeremiah Jack and Rev. Kenneth Montgomery officiating. Music will be by Champ Prince and Carolyn Prince. Grandsons serving as pallbearers include Noel Kennedy, Ronald Burger, Marty Burger, David Trantham, Tim Trantham, William Taylor, Ryan Annis, Tyler Allen, Joel Burger, Jordan Burger, Mark Burger and Eric Burger. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
