Alison Sosebee has been declared the new District Attorney for the Appalachain Circuit. Below is a statement from Sosebee about her victory:
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the voters of Fannin, Gilmer & Pickens Counties. I am both honored and humbled by the confidence that has been placed in me.
I would like to express my thanks to my family, staff and the individuals from Tate to McCaysville and all points in between who listened to a debate, read a post or news article, shook my hand and otherwise embraced the need for change in the Office of the District Attorney. The mandate for a District Attorney that will operate the office with fairness, efficiency and integrity has been made clear.
Tomorrow morning I will be in my office and will start closing my private practice as I transition into service as your District Attorney. I have frequently quoted Prime Minister Gladstone in that “justice delayed is justice denied.” To that end, I promise to work as hard over the course of the balance of this year as I did in earning your support in order to be ready to commence serving you on January 1, 2013.
B. Alison Sosebee
