Iva Lee Britton, age 85, of Farner, TN, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 in the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Britton was born in Polk County, TN to the late Arthur and Clorinda Maude Postell Queen. She was a member of the Farner Church of God. She, along with her husband, Jesse Britton, who died in 1999, had owned and operated Britton’s Store in Pine Ridge for a number of years. She was also preceded in death by son, Stevie Britton and siblings Clifford Queen, Arnold Queen, Carrie Boring and Lila Wright.
She is survived by brother, Troy Queen of Anna, TX; along with numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 13th, at 2:00 p.m. from the Farner Church of God with Rev. James Marshall, Rev. Dennis Snow and Rev. Guinn Green officiating. Mrs. Britton will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Music will be by Retha Crain and Larry & Linda Conner. Pallbearers include Timmy Boring, Tyler Boring, Chris Queen, Kevin Queen, Randy Brannon and Brian Brannon. Honorary pallbearers include, Leon Boring, Larry Boring, Denny Farrimond, Danny Queen, Ronnie Queen, Artie Queen, Dustin Boring and John Payne. Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill in charge of the arrangements.
