Cohutta Cove Mini-Golf Now Open

Community

On Saturday, July 28th, Blue Ridge’s Cohutta Cove Mini Golf had its Grand Opening.

After only two weeks of construction, Cohutta Cove Mini Golf is ready for business.

The course, designed by Bailey Consulting who designs mini-golf courses all around the world, including the popular Pirates Cove mini golf attraction in Orlando, Florida, will feature an 18-hole, handicap accessible mini golf course complete with jumps, figure 8’s, two holes incorporated with water, and elements of nature added such as stones and boulders to fit the local region.

During their game of golf, players will have three chances to win a free game by either getting a hole-in-one on holes 9 or 18, or afterwards by winning a game of PLINKO at the golfer’s stand. Here, at the golfer’s stand, players will also have the option of visiting the snack booth which will sell items such as candy, chips, ice cream, water, soda, and both hot or cold drinks such as espressos or smoothies.

The course was built by the Briggs family consisting of Brian Briggs, who moved to Blue Ridge in June, wife Allyson Briggs, son Corey Briggs, and mother Pattie Keene, who first moved to Blue Ridge from Orlando in 2006. The Briggs’ wish to give a special thanks to everyone who helped to get the golf course completed including: Jack Morton of the Fannin County Development Authority, Jim McClearen of the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce and Cohutta Feed & Country Store, Ellijay Telephone Company, Tri-State EMC, West Block Concrete, LFI Company, TRC Trucking, Quinn’s Nursery, Tree City, Home Depot, Blue Ridge Stone, and Mulch of Blue Ridge.

The Grand Opening of the golf course was Saturday, July 28th from 10 a.m. to Midnight. The golf course is located at 83 Dunbarton Farm Road behind Cadence Bank and Cohutta Feed & Country Store. All local residents can show their driver’s license at the golf course to receive a 10 percent discount. The golf course hosted a special day for the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce on July 26th from 12 to 10 p.m.

Jack Morton, of the Fannin County Development Authority says of the new course, “

Being a representative of the Fannin County Development Authority, I think the construction of the golf course will be absolutely wonderful. We finally have a golf course for the people and the local residents. This fits the niche! We want something for the locals to enjoy and bring the whole family too. We also want something that keeps the flavor of the community and this does that. It will be a tremendous addition to our community.”
