William J Gazaway, age 68 of Morganton, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at his home.He was born January 4, 1944 in Atlanta, GA to the late R. J. and Nellie Ethridge Gazaway . He attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.

Survivors include wife Hattie Marie Gazaway, sons; William Gazaway, Jr. and Dennis Richard Gazaway, daughter; April Joy Gazaway Smith, sisters; Inez Blanton, Louise Roberts, Betty Lou Pritchett and Mary Jane Kitchens, grandchildren; Wesley Gazaway, Heather Gazaway, Ben Smith, Ethan Smith, step granddaughter; Julie Huffman, great granddaughter; Malie May Braley, step granddaughter; Malrie Huffman.

Funeral services: Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Monday, July 09, 2012 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
