Alvin Mashburn, Sr, age 77, of the Life Care Center of Athens, TN passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Mr. Mashburn was a native of the Polk County area and was a son of the late Pearly and Dora Allen Mashburn. He was a member of the Farner Church of God.
He is survived by his ex wife, Ruth Louise Allen of Cleveland, TN; children, Alvin Mashburn, Jr of Cleveland, TN, Lloyd Mashburn of Benton, TN, Patricia Hardin of Cleveland, TN, Ada Black of Polk County, TN, Betty Kendrick of Polk County, TN; siblings, Clarence Mashburn, Doug Mashburn, Eupie Mashburn, Chris Mashburn and Margaret Farner, all of Farner, TN; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 10th at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Mike McDougal officiating. Music will be by John Boyd. Pallbearers include Billy Joe Maywell, Jamie Hardin, Stacey Mashburn, Pearly Mashburn, William Mashburn and Chris Mashburn. Interment will follow in the Farner Presbyterian Cemetery.
