Ellawise Mariam Bell Panter, age 91 of Mineral Bluff passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Panter was born February 14, 1921 in Copperhill, TN to the late Claud Burton Bell and Mary Etta Curtis Bell. Her love of growing up on a farm influenced her avid gardening, caring for pets and frequent canning. She had a great appreciation of life and was devoted to raising her children, grandchildren and other family. She created lovely quilts, and enjoyed boating. She and her husband wintered in Lakeland, FL for 28 years. A member of Belltown Church of God she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Fred Panter, son, James Stephen Panter, son in law, Russell Amburn, sister, Ruby Ted Messer, brother, Junior Bell, sister, Jean Bell Linderman, brothers, Bill Bell and Bobby Bell and sister, Jo Ann Bell.

Survivors include son & daughter in law, Jerry & Norma Jean Panter, daughter & son in law, Glenda Sue & Bill Simonds, grandchildren, Susie Hendrix, Sherry (Jeff) Blitch, Marty (Angie) Panter, Rhonda & Randy Kelley, Scott Amburn, great grandchildren, Jeffery Blitch, Jessica Blitch, Austin Blitch, Ashleigh Amburn, Amanda & Emma Panter, great great granddaughter, Baylee Kelley, sister, Kay Corn, sister & brother in law, Betty & Blake Loudermilk, nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Key and Rev. Leonard Hunter officiating. Music provided by Greg Brooks and Ray Ritchie. Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers; Randy Kelley, Scott Amburn, Marty Panter, Larry Joe Sosebee, Rodney Thurman and Jeff Blitch . Honorary pallbearers; Micky Loudermilk, Billy Messer, Gary Linderman and Richard Messer. .

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6-9 pm.
