SHERIFF DANE KIRBY ANNOUNCES RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN

I would like to take this opportunity to announce to the citizens of Fannin County that I will be seeking re-election as your sheriff in the upcoming 2012 election. It has been a true honor and a privilege to serve as your sheriff for the last four years.
SHERIFF DANE KIRBY ANNOUNCES RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN

As most of you know I have realized my dream to follow in my father’s footsteps since he was the sheriff in the 1960’s and 70’s. I have been involved in law enforcement for almost 25 years and have served in many positions including patrolman for the City of Blue Ridge and serving on the Governor’s personal Executive Security Detail. I also have worked in the Gilmer County’s Sheriff’s Department and in several different counties for the Georgia State Patrol.

This experience and certainly the experience of being your Sheriff for the past four years I believe qualifies me the best candidate for the coming four years. I have and will continue to work hard to serve the needs of our county by upholding the promise that I made to all of you to provide leadership and professionalism to take my office to a higher standard that reflects positively on us as a whole.

During my first term I have accomplished many of the goals I set for myself, including, new computerized records management systems, creating a new Standard Operating Procedures Manual and upgrading each of my Officer’s standard equipment. I have also been appointed by House Speaker David Ralston to the Georgia Board of Public Safety and now hold a seat on the control board of the Zell Miller Mountain Parkway Drug Task Force.

During this term I was also lucky enough to marry the former Rita Davis of Fannin County and we are both members of Hemptown Baptist Church in Morganton, Georgia.
