Mrs. Frances Hellen Steed, age 90, of Blue Ridge, passed away February 7, 2012 at the Fannin Regional Hospital.Mrs. Steed was born March 28, 1921 in Athens , GA to the late Albert Andrew Adams and the late Mattie Belle Chandler Adams. She was a member of Epworth First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Alexander Edmond Steed, Sr. Hellen owned and operated a catering service, before her retirement.

Survivors include: daughter, Phyllis Ann (Mike) Taylor, son, Alex (Linda) Steed Jr., son, Weyman (Sue) Steed, and son, Tim (Peggy) Steed.

A memorial service will be held February 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Epworth with Rev. Chan Mitchell officiating and music provided by Rev. Doug Simonds..
