Roy “Snook” Cole : Obituary

Roy Edward “Snook” Cole, age 71 of Murphy, passed away January 24, 2012 at Murphy Medical Center. He was born June 13, 1940 in Murphy, NC to the late William Cole and Margie Morrow Cole. He was born again January 12, 2012. He was a US Army Veteran serving post Korea, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid outdoors man, he loved spending his spare time reading. He was preceded in death by daughter, Windy Bartelt.

Survivors include: son and daughter in law, Scott & Hope Cole, daughter & son in law, Mickie & Art Amos, daughter and son in law, Lisa & Tim Sutton, Brother, George Cole, sister, Shirley Nave, sister, Wanda Cole, Brother, David Cole, grandchildren, Amber Cole, Brooke Cole, Rachel Cole, Isaac Cole, Elijah Blake Cole, Amanda Amos, Savannah Amos, Zachary Amos, Trevor Sutton, Spencer Sutton, Tristin Sutton, Gage Bartelt and Nathan Bartlett.

Funeral services: Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve West and Rev. Steve Ware officiating. Music provided by the Lee and Cable Family’s. Interment will follow in Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery . Pallbearers: Zachary Amos, Trevor, Sutton, Spencer Sutton, John Mason, Jeff Martin and Randall Harris. Honorary pallbearers: Tristin Sutton, Isaac Cole, R.L. Howard, Ray Hughes, David Penland, Wayne Rogers and Tom Rogers.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy, Saturday, January 28, 2012 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.
