Virginia Deloris Brown Trantham, affectionately known to family, friends and coworkers as “Sally”, age 77, of Copperhill, TN passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012.Mrs. Trantham was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Jessie Hughes Brown. She was retired from the Copper Basin Medical Center after thirty years service working in the Housekeeping Department. She was a member of the New Hope Holiness Church and was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Brown and granddaughter, Melissa Trantham.

She is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, Elmer Trantham of the home; children, Steve (Cindy) Trantham, Stanley Trantham, Annette (Wade) Collins, Jr, brother, Claude (Lillie Faye) Brown, all of the Copper Basin area; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 27th at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Pastor John Prater and Pastor Jeremy Tipton officiating. Music will be by Latisha Walls and Hannah Tipton. Pallbearers include Ike Collins, Mike Stuart, Terry Gladson, Chris Trantham, Caleb Collins and Brett Trantham. Honorary pallbearers include the Housekeeping Department at Copper Basin Medical Center, all nephews of Mrs. Trantham, John Grizzle, Gilbert Johnson, Roy Trantham, Morris Jones and Marty Coggins. Interment will follow in the New Hope Holiness Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
