Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces funeral services for Mr. Wayne Lovingood, age 61, native and lifelong resident of Hiawassee, Georgia, who passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012, in Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mr. Lovingood was born in Towns County, Georgia, on November 28, 1950, a son of the late Boyd Lovingood and the late Inez Johnson Lovingood. He was a painter and a member of Mt. Pleasant Church of God in Hiawassee. Besides his parents, Wayne had been preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Ruth Burch, Alice Woodring, and Marie Lovingood; and two brothers, Grady Lovingood, and Leon Lovingood.

Mr. Lovingood will be missed by all who knew him, but especially missed by his loving family members: his wife Margie; three children, Shelby Jean Barnes, and Peggy Lee Morlen, both of Hiawassee, and Rachel Leona Edward, of Young Harris, Georgia; sisters: Margie Allen, of Cornelia, Georgia, Karen Rodriguez, of Franklin, North Carolina; brothers: Arsel Lovingood, of Young Harris, Georgia; Max Lovingood, of Hiawassee; Phillip Lovingood, also of Hiawassee; and Boyd Andrew Lovingood, Jr., of Plano, Texas; six grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Wayne have been scheduled for Thursday, January 5, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., in Mt. Pleasant Church of God, with Rev. Raburne Wilson, Rev. Glen Eller, and Rev. Jeff Conner officiating. The body will lie instate at the church on Thursday, beginning at 11:00 a.m., and last until time for the funeral to begin. Special music will be presented by Nola Jean Nichols, Lisa Richardson, Vivian Lovell, Jessica Kilby and Sheliah Eller. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Jerry Rogers, Stanley Berry, Robert Berry, Eugene Lovingood, Rondal Lovingood, and Jared Coleman. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as honorary escort to the family: Bill Kendall, Donald Anderson, Benny Barrett, Roger Bennett, Michael Rogers, and Ricky Nicholson. Burial will be in Enotah Cemetery in Hiawassee.

Visitation at the funeral home will begin on Wednesday evening, January 4, 2012, with the family especially meeting with friends between the hours of 5 until 9 p.m.
