David Gallagher : Obituary

Mr. David Thomas Gallagher, age 77 of Hayesville, NC, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home in Hiawassee.
Mr. Gallagher was born November 19, 1934 in San Diego, CA to the late Joseph Gallagher and the late Clara Dodd Gallagher. He was preceded in death by his son, David Timothy Gallagher. Mr Gallagher had lived in Hayesville for the past 6 1/2 years, moving here from Macon, Georgia. He worked for most of his life as a carpenter building commercial buildings. In his retirement years, he built many projects for his grandchildren. Mr. Gallagher loved animals, especially dogs.

Survivors include: wife, Gwen Gallagher of Hayesville, NC, daughter, Michelle Peterson of Hiawassee, GA, Brother, James Gallagher of Los Alamitos, CA, sister, Cora Lockwood of Surprise, AZ, Brother, Joseph Gallagher of Tollhouse, CA, granddaughter, Jamie Brendle of Hayesville, NC, grandsons, Levi Peterson and Jeremy Peterson, both of Hiawassee, GA and great grandchildren, Cheyenne Peterson, Taylor Brendle and Dalton Brendle.

Private Family Memorial Services will be scheduled for a later date.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to the Valley River Humane Society, P.O. Box 658, Murphy, NC 28906.
